Power
Eversource is the electric utility service provider in Newtown.  In cooperation with Energize CT, Eversource can assist with your business’s energy needs.  Visit Energize CT to learn more about many of these programs.

Third party competitive electric service providers are licensed by the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA).  In Connecticut, you can choose who you buy your electricity from, but Eversource will still deliver the electricity to your business.

Natural Gas

Water
Many areas of Newtown are served by a public water system that is owned and managed by Aquarian Water Company. The company maintains two wells, having a capacity of 1.5 million gallons per day.

A municipal water system serves the Fairfield Hills Campus. The Newtown Water Sewer Authority manages the municipal system.

Private wells predominate in outlying areas.

Sewer
Public sewer service is available in the Borough of Newtown, Sandy Hook Center, limited areas along South Main Street, in Hawleyville along Route 6 and at the Fairfield Hills Campus. The Newtown Water Sewer Authority manages these service areas.
