Newtown’s proximity to an extensive network of road, air and rail transportation facilities provides convenient access to the metro regions of Hartford, New York and Boston.

Located in Fairfield County, our area has America’s third largest concentration of corporate headquarters.

Roads
Automobile, bus and truck access exists along Interstate I-84. This principal east-west artery extends from Pennsylvania through Newtown to Hartford, and Boston via the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Numerous north-south roads intersect I-84. US Routes 6, 25 and 34 go directly through Newtown. Other major roads within a few minutes of Newtown include I-684, I-95, the Merritt Parkway, Saw Mill Parkway, US Routes 7, 8, 87, and the Taconic Parkway.

The Metro North train stations in Bethel and Danbury provide easy service to New York City.

Housatonic Rail hauls freight from western and northern national gateways into Connecticut, moving it within the state over its own branch line. There are multiple properties that access the rail in Newtown.

Amtrak stations are located in Bridgeport, Westport, New Haven and other towns within 35 minutes of Newtown.

Bus:
Bus terminals in Southbury and Danbury are only 15 minutes away.  These terminals provide passenger and cargo service to communities in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhode Island.

The Housatonic Area Regional Transit (HART) system operates between Hawleyville Business District and in the Greater Danbury area. ALL of HART’s vehicles are wheelchair accessible.

Limousine Service:
