QUICKCOMM, INC.

Quickcomm, Inc.
Michael Bodetti, Global Head of Service Operations

What does your company do?
Quickcomm is a global provider of Telecommunications
Expense Management and Consulting services. Quickcomm helps organizations optimize their telecom networks by reducing their telecom costs and increasing their visibility into their telecom environment. Quickcomm is able to increase its Clients’ visibility by maintaining a clean telecom inventory and by negotiating their telecom contracts.

Why is your company located in Newtown - or why did you decide to grow your business in Newtown?
Quickcomm was started in Newtown because I lived in town. The company was originally
started in a room over my garage.

Can you tell me about your experiences with Newtown in terms of growing from a home office to Berkshire Road to Turnberry Lane (world wide) why Newtown?
Quickcomm originally started in a room over my garage. After a couple of years the business was growing and it required me to hire more and more people. We reached a point where we needed more space and because most of the employees live within a half hour radius of Newtown, we decided to move to another location in town. In 2002, we moved into office space at 13 Berkshire Road. We originally had 2500 sq ft, but within a year we expanded to 3500 sq ft. A year later we grew to 5000 sq ft. By 2006 we ran out of space again so we took an additional 3500 sq ft in the building next door. At that time we realized that we were growing at a pace at which we needed enough space for the long term. We started to look for a commercial building lot in Newtown and some of the surrounding towns. We researched the different options available and found that the building lot on Turnberry Lane combined with a tax incentive program that Newtown offered was the perfect situation.

How long has your company been in Newtown?
I founded TnT Expense Management in 1999. In October 2010, TnT was acquired by Vodafone, the world’s biggest telecom carrier. On the same day, Vodafone acquired Quickcomm Software Solutions and in November 2011, TnT and Quickcomm merged to form Quickcomm, Inc.

Why do you think other businesses might find Newtown to be an attractive location for their company?

  • We have access to a skilled workforce. There is a highly educated workforce in
Newtown, most of whom work in cities in CT and NY. By giving these people the option to work in a corporate environment close to where they live, it opens many doors for them and at the same time gives us access to highly qualified and loyal employees.
  • Quickcomm’s Clients are historically NY based, so we benefit from talent from NY.
Now we have many clients who are headquartered or located in CT and who have a global presence including Europe and Asia.
  • Newtown is off of I-84 which in turn allows us easy access to NYC, Boston and all cities in between. Newtown makes for an ideal location for client access to one of the largest markets in the world.
  • Newtown has excellent tax programs for new construction of office buildings.
