What We Do
The Economic Development Commission is your business advocate in Newtown.
An appointed nine member commission works directly with business owners as their advocate in Newtown. This advocacy can be accomplished through face-to-face meetings, site visits, public gatherings, email firstname.lastname@example.org and others forms of communication.
Commission members collaborate with other government agencies and private organizations as necessary to help promote Newtown’s business community. The EDC will work to coordinate efforts, provide information about available business services and opportunities and assist businesses to navigate through the permitting process. The Commission’s goal is to build a business friendly environment in Newtown.
The EDC meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00pm in the Newtown Municipal Center. Opportunities for economic development in Newtown are diverse.
